Mission Screenshot

Sorry for the lack of updates, the team has been pretty busy working on the last of the tweaks that we need to get done to show the game off at Indie Games Con 2005 as well as get the closed beta up and running. In the mean time though here is a screenshot of the new RW mission...

The short answer in regards to the question of a Linux build is, if there is enough demand by end users for a Linux build to offset the development time needed to make one happen, then we will certainly go ahead and work on a Linux build. At this current time though we are not actively developing for Linux.

In regards to why are not actively developing for Linux at the moment, we made a decision long ago that we would develop for one OS and then port if there is the demand. This way we can keep focused on development versus being fragmented trying to develop and support for 3 or more OSes. Although it was a tough decision to make we did it based off of past experiances going down this path before, so we certainly hope that you understand our reasons for not doing this at this time.

Lastly as a personal comment I would also like to see Linux sites such as Slashdot, Happy Penguin and Linux Gaming make a better effort at supporting Linux games. Unfortunately these sites eat their own young at the moment and IMHO do more to hinder Linux games than help it. Because of this it's difficult as a developer to support Linux as much as you want to when you don't get any assistance from the core Linux community sites when you need to let the Linux gamers know that you are making an effort to support them.

This looks REALLY GOOD, cant wait to get my hands on the map editor, and my big questions are:
1. Will it be free?
2. Will there be a easier setup to run a dedicated server?

If it plays as good as it looks and I can still work with the editing tools, I will DEFINATELY get back into this game :)

I'm from http://www.linux-gamers.net/ and check the site every month. But if I don't hear a word about Linux I can't post about it.

If you want a news use our submit form and we will post it!
